The Bit Generations games are horribly dull. I know simplicity is the main concept, but it's over-simplified to the point that there's no meat to the gameplay. Despite the inexplicably rave reviews on sites like gamefaqs, the Bit Generations titles aren't worth any American gamer's time.

For any American gamer who wants easy-to-play (and truly fun) Japanese imports, I heartily recommend Guru Logic Champ, Kururin Paradise, and Mr. Driller A: Fushigi na Pacteria. I'm certain readers will find these three games more satisfying than any of the Bit Generations titles.

Rhythm Tengoku is pretty playable in a flash cart though. And yes, it’s great. Those of you who’re into Japanese, be sure to check out the little texts and stories unlocked when you complete the Perfect challenges; they’re hilarious. The interview with Air Batter–san was priceless.

if you have REALLY good color sensitivity (i.e. the opposite of color blindness), then you should definitely check out Coloris, which is another bit Generations game. Dotstream is also good if you like racing games. I reviewed all of the bit Generations games on my LJ a while ago:

(as you can see, I was lazy and copied a lot of the reviews for this post from things I wrote for that post)
